Pros
Hourly wages, benefits, school schedule for breaks, limited interaction with boss and office. Free class B cdl with passenger and air brakes endorsements.
You have contracted hours, set days, and requirements to fulfill. However, you get paid to fuel the bus, change bus when swapping for inspection, bus breakdowns, and you can sign up for field trips. The schedule for summer, winter, and spring break is what you also follow, with in service meetings. When driving, you only reach out to management or the office if needed. (The less you hear from them the faster the day goes!)
Cons
Changes with demands changing without any notice. Constant mindset of "you have to" instead of being asked "could you help?", poor work life balance.
Some days are non negotiatable. You have to "work" on meeting days, even if you need those days off. (Planning Dr visits, errands, etc around those days. )
