Only a number, and a lowly one at that... - Customer Service Representative CDW Employee Review

Pros

You'll get a lot of experience answering phones and customer service complaints, and learning your way around their site trying to complete client orders

Cons

The company apparently believes their most economical hiring path is to get kids right out of school, pay them low, work them hard, and hire plenty of management to oversee them and be sure they don't goof off - rather than hire adults with a work ethic, pay them well, treat them well and cut back on the middle layers of unneeded management-as-babysitter.

Pros

We all help each other to win unlike any other organization I've worked for. I've never seen an organization support their "coworkers" like CDW has. Management is excellent, supportive and not breathing down our neck but of course have expectations. Leadership is visible. The other day I got off the elevator and the CEO, Chris Leahy, was there which startled me to the point I didn't have words for her. Just be prepared to engage with variety of people often and you'll be successful here.

Cons

None at the moment. I could always get more pay but not real cons. If I owned a business, I'd model it after CDW in part.

Pros

Some good people still left there, but dwindling quickly. That's really it...the few decent coworkers left.

Cons

The great culture of the past is gone. Shareholder value is the only important metric now, and tenure/performance don't hold any value anymore to the EC. CDW is a shell of what it used to be for employee satisfaction across the board.
