Pros

Flexible schedule and autonomy for the most part, you are micro managed from afar.

Cons

The income potential is misleading! You start out as full-time and are expected to work up to seeing 18-20 patients a day to maintain a full-time salaried status. This sounds OK in theory, but it is impossible to achieve because it takes 30 minutes to an hour to complete a chart note, that is 10 hours a day, just to complete charting. This does not include , email, preparing your schedule for the day, travel time, seeing the patients, talking to staff and family, and any other distraction that comes your way, that is, another 5-7 hours per day. Psychologists have different requirements, but it is a similar work flow.

Pros

The flexibility of the job.

Cons

RVU system favors the company, you pay an unfair amount in health insurance as a part time employee and no PTO. There is no real training for those new to this population and the documentation is burdensome.
