Pros

We each had our own office rather than working in cubicles. Management was not always looking over your shoulder making sure that you working. CMT provided full health/dental benefits with no cost to employees. They covered it 100%. Unheard of during these times. Provided a 401K matching plan.

Cons

Because it is a small company it takes quite a while to advance to a management position. Regardless, you always do receive your raise and if they hit the numbers you would receive the bonus stated at the start of the year.

The job itself is fun.

I got an email stating I was hired for a shift. I confirmed and showed up for the shift. When I arrived, I went online to check in. I didn’t see the job on my account so I texted my manager to find out what was going on. Since I knew I was hired for the job, I stayed to complete my shift, thinking there was some technical issue going on with the online platform. I didn’t want to get in trouble for being a no show. About 4 hours later, my manager got back to me stating the shift was cancelled. I never received any prior notice of this cancellation and I checked my email history numerous times to make sure. Since she indicated that I would not be paid, I decided to contact the owner of the company. He said there is nothing he can do and said I should have checked my online account before showing up for my shift. The only reason why I ever log in to my account is to check in after arriving to the store and to write my report. I had no reason to think my shift was canceled, so why would I check my account before showing up for a shift? It is not my responsibly to make sure a shift still exists when I have an email confirming I am hired. I never got paid and never got an apology. This company is extremely unprofessional and doesn’t take responsibility for their mistakes.
