Pros
Good health, dental, and vision insurance package. More holidays than other companies in the industry, and holidays and sick leave are split. Opportunity for travel among junior staff.
Cons
HR exists to protect senior management, and makes little to no effort to support mid- and junior-level staff. On at least a dozen occasions during my tenure, CNFA HR made junior staff cry. Not a supportive environment for employees with physical disabilities, and very little support available to employees prioritizing mental health . Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion seems to be surface level only - employees who expressed concern about DEI were forced onto a committee to fix the issue for the company without any management buy-in. The suggestions of the newly formed DEI committee were disregarded entirely. Little was done at the start of Covid-19 to ease employees' transition to working from home, or provide support throughout the pandemic. Some managers blame project failures on junior staff as well as verbally abuse their subordinates. Rate of accrual of sick days should be higher, especially during a pandemic. Salaries are low compared to competitors within the industry, and negotiation is distressing and challenging due to blatantly hostile conversations with HR.
