Pros
Freedom to work own schedule. Trips, although nearly impossible to obtain, are nice. Some decent managers depending on where you work.
Cons
Extremely high p & c rates make it nearly impossible to build a book. DO NOT believe it if your manager tells you that once you go "career" agent your safe. This is just not true. If you are outspoken or don't tow the company line your as good as gone. Most of the district managers are clueless. Ask for impossible life insurance numbers to hit in these economic times. Want you to sell investments and managed accounts but their "money managers" have that impressive Illinois State college degree. Seriously, most of their so called money experts don't even have masters degrees, look it up. The new CEO is clueless. Sad to say it because there are some good people working here but this is a sinking ship.
