Pros
One of the things that genuinely impressed me about working at CPP Investments was how accessible the leadership team is, even within a large global organization. The CEO makes frequent visits to the Mumbai office and creates real opportunities for direct interaction. It’s rare in global firms of this scale to have that level of access. I had the chance to meet the CEO twice in a year, and both experiences were memorable — not just as formal town halls, but as meaningful conversations where employees felt heard and valued. The organization also does a great job balancing high performance expectations with strong support for development. You’re constantly encouraged to adapt to new technologies and evolving industry practices, but you’re not left to figure it out on your own. There are frequent training sessions, upskilling programs, and learning opportunities that make it clear the company is invested in its people. It creates an environment where growth feels intentional and continuous. Overall, it’s a place that challenges you, supports you, and gives you exposure that’s hard to find elsewhere especially within a global investment institution.
Cons
The organization’s strong governance framework means decisions often go through multiple layers of review and alignment. While this ensures thoughtful risk management and accountability, it can sometimes slow down execution, particularly in fast moving situations.
