Team members are really like family, which is something that I really appreciated as an intern with no prior agency experience. Lots of opportunities to interact with clients and participate in company events.

Workload is heavy, lots of time spent on last minute requests after hours and on weekends, and can be a bit of a stressful learning experience for an intern. Tough work-life balance.

Very elitist culture and very little respect for interns. You are paid a yearly salary instead of an hourly salary because they will not pay you overtime, although the job requires odd and long hours beyond a typical 9-5. Having a social life is next to impossible, and expressing capacity often gets overlooked. Saying that you are feeling overwhelmed gets met with remarks that its just part of the job. There is an expectation to drop everything and abandon any plans (including weekends) when it comes to the client. Obviously, interns do not earn commission for any client work, although they put in just as much effort as consultants.
