Pros
Clinic partners set their own schedules of days worked. The pay is competitive. The store staff where I work are very nice people, and my Minute Clinic team colleagues are dedicated and congenial. CVS Health provides wellness benefits, (weight loss coaching, smoking cessation, and health screening) to all of their employees, regardless of insurance coverage or FT/PT status. I am proud that the company made a huge decision to stop selling tobacco products a few years ago.
Cons
There is no receptionist or LPN; the provider spends an inordinate amount of time checking patients in and verifying insurance benefits. There is a serious push to see more and more patients in less time. (Which could be done if there was an assistant.) Feedback from providers is marginally acted upon. Your charts are reviewed for "guideline violations", even though they are guidelines and not policies. Every part of your patient encounters are measured and quantified. The company is trying to expand the scope of services too quickly. Expansion into primary care, may not be the most appropriate setting.
