Pros
Most of the staff are genuinely friendly, collaborative, and hardworking. • The work setup offers independence, with your own office space, allowing you to focus and complete tasks without micromanagement (at least at the staff level). • There’s real potential in the team if leadership were to shift and accountability improved.
Cons
While the general staff made the workday enjoyable, the biggest challenge in this workplace came from the female Vice President, whose leadership approach created a toxic and unhealthy environment. There was a clear pattern of favoritism behind-the-scenes that left employees feeling unsafe and unsupported. A major concern was the Vice President’s close relationship with a manager she brought over from a previous job. This manager often stirred division, acted as a go-between for the Vice President, and created an atmosphere of distrust among the staff. On top of that, despite company policies discouraging certain workplace relationships, this manager was in a relationship with an assistant manager, raising fairness and favoritism concerns. What’s especially troubling is that it was later discovered that the female Vice President’s real estate license with the California Department of Real Estate (DRE) was expired, and the manager she brought in did not hold a DRE license at all — yet both were actively performing key property management duties, including overseeing homeowners’ rental properties and making decisions that directly impacted tenants, owners, and staff. These discoveries raised serious concerns about compliance, oversight, and whether the company was operating within proper legal and ethical boundaries. Unfortunately, HR provided little meaningful resolution or accountability when concerns were raised, leaving employees feeling vulnerable to retaliation or being pushed out. While the company has strong potential, with many talented and hardworking team members, the Vice President’s influence created burnout, high turnover, and instability that ultimately undermined the workplace. If you are considering working here, I recommend you do your due diligence, ask clear questions about licensing, accountability, and management practices, and proceed cautiously to ensure the environment aligns with your expectations.
