Pros

None, do not be fooled by the influx of positive reviews they're interesting in terms of their timing.

Cons

The timing of the influx of positive reviews are somewhat interesting, however, I do agree with the high volume of staff joining the business. This will no doubt be due to the high turnover of staff they have. The business is owned and run by a husband and wife team, unfortunately this dynamic doesn’t work as they both goad each other. If you are liked by the pair then your time at Calculus will be okay, however, their attitude towards people changes with the wind. When you are not flavour of the month you will be bullied by these two who play mind games taunting you, I have faced and also witnessed preferential treatment towards other members of staff and discrimination of staff such as giving them unreasonable deadlines to finish work and cutting their lunch break down from an hour to 30 minutes when the rest of the team are still allowed an hour. The company will state they have an 'impartial HR team’, however, this is a conflict of interest as their ‘HR team’ consists of the owners wife. There has not been one member of staff who has not left under a cloud and in all cases that cloud has been created by the disorganisation and ill treatment from the owner and his wife. Their conduct is lacking and it amazes me how they get out of bed and dress themselves each morning. It begs the question whether these reviews are being written by the owner or if he’s putting undue pressure on his current staff into writing these. I have witnessed staff who have suffered terribly at this company. My advice would be to stay away, quite frankly if there was the choice of unemployment or working at Calculus I would rather be unemployed.

Pros

Working for this company has been such a brilliant opportunity to learn and develop technical and social skills. I can't recognise myself from where I started in terms of my website skills and confidence talking to customers, third parties and colleagues. I have seen complaints in other reviews around training and learning the system - but there no better way to learn than to dive into the deep end which is a necessary mindset to thrive at this company. I have been working at Calculus for a little over a year and look forward to many more. Although the conflict of interest between HR and the owner, both genuinely care about their staff and it shows especially when voicing concerns amongst the hectic, busy environment. I have now worked for both the support and web teams respectively. Both of which are managed by intelligent, friendly and humorous people who lookout for the members of their team.

Cons

There are currently no incentive schemes in place. Introducing rewards that motivate engineers to push beyond expectations could make a meaningful difference. Especially if those incentives combine both individual and team-based targets.

Pros

No pros atal with this company

Cons

There are many cons to this company and not any good things to say. Firstly I was hired as a "Field Engineer" and my job was far from that, I was stuck in a very small office with 10 other people just answering phones and logging tickets about issues relating to there so called Epos System and were expected to know there software in and out with half a day's worth of training and basicly scamming customers with services and hardware they do not need The atmosphere is awful there, you were forced to work in silence the entire day and when on the phone you have management listening into your conversations which is very off putting The Management structure is very poor as having the HR being Married to the Owner so nothing is confidential and many conflicts of interest There is only 2 spaces for staff parking available so there technically is no parking on site even though they advertise there is onsite parking There are no bonuses given and salary is very insulting with the work that is expected I even know of other colleagues that were bullied by upper management to the point it made them very ill , no have no compation or any care for staff wellbeing
