Pros

The company definitely has employees interests at heart. It tries to encourage internal collaboration both professionally and personally. Pay is on par or better than other IT vendors. Benefits are excellent from medical to work from home allowances to help build out a home office. Calix works to hard to train and invest in its people - knowing that investing in its people is rewarded by its people investing in their customers - which goes full circle. Calix is a leading vendor in the Service Provider market space and is quickly incorporating technologies, integrating partners, and offering eco-sysstem type solutions that are essentially unmatched in the industry today. Calix cares about its employees. It also cares about its customers. It gives its customers tools and resources for them to be successful.

Cons

Explosive growth (people, territories) recently has tenured personnel helping out on multiple fronts trying to spin up new hires and manage multiple territories. The problem should be short lived though. The hiring process - while some would consider it very thorough and designed to protect and enhance the company's stellar culture - can be a bit tedious or long in process. In some cases, great talent may not have patience or be willing to wait out the process if candidates are entertaining multiple opportunities. The company needs ability to act faster when good talent is available. Many companies offer RSUs or other stock options up front as part of the overall package. Calix chooses to offer its unique stock plans after hiring.

Pros

Calix offers a highly collaborative, customer‑first environment where strong cross‑functional partnerships are genuinely valued. The culture encourages ownership, accountability, and proactive problem‑solving, especially when supporting high‑impact customers and complex initiatives. Leadership is accessible and supportive, and there’s a real emphasis on continuous improvement, process refinement, and professional growth. If you enjoy meaningful work, transparency, and being trusted to make decisions that positively impact both customers and the business, Calix is a great place to build and grow your career.

Cons

As with many fast‑growing, customer‑focused organizations, the pace at Calix can be demanding, particularly during peak periods or when managing complex, cross‑functional initiatives. Processes and tools are continuously evolving, which can occasionally create ambiguity and require adaptability. Aligning across multiple teams and priorities sometimes takes persistence, and success often depends on being proactive, detail‑oriented, and comfortable navigating change. That said, these challenges tend to come with opportunities for visibility, impact, and growth.
