Pros
Flexibility. Can open and close time slots at a whim so if you want to take a vacation for 1-2 months, you absolutely can without having to ask permission or get leave approved. Can choose whether to accept classes from students or not, meaning you can concentrate on teaching students that match your skill set and expertise (giving both tutor and student a positive experience). if enough tutors collectively want some aspect of the platform or guidelines for tutors changed, management does listen and makes attempts to change, so seems like their number 1 priority is user experience and employee happiness.
Cons
the expectations from students doesn't currently match the pay rate offered. For example, we aren't currently paid to grade work outside of the platform, provide reviews, create lesson plans or curriculums, but a lot of students expect or demand that and may rate low if they join your class when you let them know you won't do that. There's no level test for students or appropriate material for students with zero english.
