Pros
Some of the employees are knowledgeable, helpful, and pleasant. In some situations there is training (both on the job and offsite) that might lead to better job opportunities elsewhere.
Cons
Expectations were unreasonable. (Ex. "Your goal is X parts per shift." When cycle, load times, tool checks, etc. mean you can only get X-6 parts on a shift where everything runs perfectly.) Increased work load does not correlate to increased pay. If you are hired for 2nd or 3rd shift, do not expect that to change, regardless of the intentions stated by management. If it does change, do not expect them to respect seniority in deciding who to move to 1st shift. Employee morale is very low and turnover is quite high.
