To start this review off, I am quite unhappy regarding the outcome of my probationary period review. I feel as if I was not given sufficient time to improve. It states in the probationary letter I was given that a meeting was held on the 5th of March about calls being dropped with no phone call back, the reason for this was due to sound issues where either the customer could not hear me or I could not hear them. I said at the time I could not remember why the calls had dropped but after this meeting it came to my attention that that was the reason for the dropped calls. It was then brought to my attention that I needed to call the customer back or I could face losing my job. After I had agreed to do this on the 5th in a meeting with my manager and my manager Kala Kirby said she found no evidence of me doing this after the 5th in my probationary review I feel I did improve in this aspect of the job. It was then highlighted at a future date that there wasnt enough energy in my voice on the 22nd of march, me and my manger then reviewed my calls on the monday to see if there had been an improvment which i was then told i needed to try harder and put more energy in my voice. On the 27th of march me and my manager Kala then reviewed my calls and there were signs of improvment in my voice and there was evidence of more energy. I was also trying my best to make sure to say thank you to the customer after they gave me information because I had gotten feedback about this and was trying to implement it. My review then comes around on the 28th and I was shocked to find that my employment is subsequently terminated even though I showed signs of improvement in the aspects that my manager had highlighted ONE DAY EARLIER. I am unsatisfied with the probationary letter stating I was given adequate time to improve as even though I was improving my employment got terminated. I wanted to dispute this because I do not feel the termination was very fair but absolutely nothing was done. If they say to you that you do not have to worry about your stats when you are new to the job and that there is a "glide path" in place allowing you more time to get the hang of things PLEASE DO NOT BELIEVE THEM, they are lying to you by saying that your stats do not matter in grad bay. THEY WILL USE THIS AGAINST YOU IN YOUR PROBATIONARY REVIEW AND YOU WILL LOSE YOUR JOB IF THEY ARE NOT GOOD!!!! PLEASE REMEMBER THEY ARE WATCHING YOU LIKE A HAWK IT DOESNT MATTER IF YOU ARE NEW. I had let them know about my mental health problems also, if you have anything similar forget about going to your appointments I was not able to go to any of them apart from one in the time I was working there and forget about understanding managers because it is non existent in this company. Another example of how they treat people is my beloved pet unfortunately died during the probation period, my manager knew I had mental health problems. That animal was my support companion and when he died I was devastated and needed the day off otherwise I would have been a blubbering ball of tears on the phone. When I called my manager there was no understanding of this and I was told I wouldnt be able to have the day off because it would go against me in my probationary review. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I need one mental health day to recover from a major loss in my life and you are reluctant to give it to me. That is just one example of many where they have acted inappropriately towards my mental health and in regards to my work place performance. Absolutely ridiculous company, not for people who have disabilities or mental health problems and they will just fire you even if you show signs of improvement in your work. Please do not work for this company if you value being treated like a human being and not a robot. Also if it wasnt obvious you will experience the usual call center micro management, constant "coaching" sessions where they will nitpick the slightest thing you do no even allowing room for an off day and stress that comes with the rest of call center positions out there, however you will also be working for a company that endorses all of what I have put in this review. You will be nothing but a robot to them, just a number in their eyes, you must not have feelings or you will be terminated basically. I was not even told why I was terminated, like the specifics I was just told a generic response that it was due to performance issues but as I mentioned previously I was improving so it makes no sense, they just base their decision on a whim by the looks of things. I would say dont do it and only do it if you are desperate.
