Pros
Decent benefits, flexible with scheduling, considering it is a retail sales position. Easy straight forward approach to buying and selling cars. Tools are available and easy to use. The sales structure benefits the consumer and salesperson alike.
Cons
Training is in theory detailed but only as good as your selected trainer. Sales people train other sales people, a very poor concept if you are looking for consistency and high quality training. It is hit or miss at best, trainees pretty much train themselves by trial and error. Management is inconsistent store to store. Managers in the store I work spend most of their time with busy work. Very little control of the environment, floor procedure and are rarely around for sales assistance. This causes a lot of personnel needless stress and tension. Due to lack of actual 'sales management' this store comes across to the customer as unprofessional. This is store specific as management at other stores are proactive and interactive., preventing possible personnel problems before they reach the customer. Unfortunately, corporate does not respond well to issues such as this. The stock holders are much, much more important than customers and it shows.
