Pros
Lots of different career opportunities, although most places you need to transfer to move up the ladder. Many locations you can transfer to, although most are in the midwest. Lots of very long term employees. Stable job.
Cons
Work/life balance is an issue. Everything is about following a process but the processes are always changing and conflict with each other. Lots of acronyms and buzzwords. Business is divided into units which compete with each other and refuse to share information. There is no one 'Cargill', there is Cargill Salt and Cargill Beef and Cargill Corn which all keep secrets from each other which stifles innovation and prevents collaboration.
