Pros

Small company so less bureaucratic layers and hiring processes very much streamlined. Quick to be hired and put in contact with the prime contract contacts for easy onboarding. The position was in support of the U.S. Army and that aspect was also fantastic; great team and rewarding mission.

Cons

Non cons for this company. As with any small sub-prime government contracting company there is less resources or perks compared to a Booz Allen or a CACI type company, but I’d rather have ease of contact and quick processes as I got with Castalia.

Pros

• Mission-Focused: The work directly supports national defense, which adds a sense of purpose you don’t get everywhere. • Supportive Culture: Leadership is approachable and responsive. You're not just a badge number — they actually listen. • Strong Peer Group: Colleagues are experienced, technically sharp, and willing to collaborate. Great team dynamics. • Autonomy: Plenty of room to take ownership of projects and influence infrastructure decisions. • Compensation: Pay is solid, especially for cleared roles. Benefits are above average, and the company seems committed to staying competitive.

Cons

• Client-Driven Environment: Some limitations around tools and tech stacks due to contract constraints. Not always bleeding-edge. • Career Mobility: Advancement is possible, but mostly tied to contract growth or internal networking — not a formal path. • Workload Spikes: While generally manageable, there are periods of heavier demand (e.g., system migrations or outages).
