Pros
I am extremely impressed by present day Catholics for Choice. Transitioning from private sector to nonprofit, I wasn't sure exactly what to expect. Luckily, CFC has a working environment that outshines most employers in many areas: - The benefits are fantastic — half-day Fridays, $0 premiums, an unlimited PTO policy (with a required minimum of five weeks off), and much more. - The pay is excellent, and great performance is rewarded in salary and title. - Work-life balance is easily one of my favorite things here. You can choose your hours, which days you work from home, and you won't receive work communication after 5pm or on weekends. - The staff members are amazing. Everyone works hard, and is truly dedicated to our mission. Coworkers are all very friendly and fun to be around, without judgement of any sort. Senior leaders are extremely receptive and are appreciative and supportive supervisors. I can now go to work with all of my energy, and support a cause that truly matters. You do not need to be Catholic to work here — you just need to be 100% supportive of reproductive rights, and great at what you do. Our work is very fulfilling!
Cons
- If you expect others to work on nights and weekends or want to receive praise for working late — this probably isn't your ideal environment. We abide by our agreed upon work hours. - If you prefer a strictly independent role, it might not be a great fit. We have a ton of cross-team collaboration and departments work together quite often.
