Could be Great. - Rehoming and Welfare Assistant Cats Protection Employee Review

Pros

Most staff and volunteers are friendly. The salary is competitive against other charities. Working hours are fair.

Cons

Those that deal with directly with the cats and customers are over worked and under staffed. There is little to no mental health support. Each adoption centre is run as it's own kingdom dictated by it's manager. Although there is training, there is no succession training. You are stuck in the role you start in with. They prefer to recruit external candidates rather than allow staff to move up or departments. There is a massive cultural divide between those who work in the centres and field based/head office staff. Head office staff/field based staff generally treated well and supported. The centre staff are not.

Pros

Beautiful cats who will melt your heart!!! Just amazing to be with these wonderful animals. Felt so honoured to take care of them

Cons

Small work force. Very toxic work place the last few years. I suffered bullying and harassment and broke my heart to resign.
