Pros

Bringing Moshiach, Satisfaction, Connection with the Rebbe, Accomplishing more than you'd be able to on your own, and more than you've ever imagined.

Cons

Lack of money, Need to fundraise everything yourself, living far from a Jewish School for the kids, living far from kosher shopping/dining, costing 5 hours of a babysitter if you want to take your wife out to dinner for two hours

Pros

Fair pay always. I felt free to ask for payment terms to be discussed and expenses were always promptly repaid. Dealing directly with the Rabbi in charge for financial matters was easy and straightforward, never stressful even when donations were lighter at times. The Rabbi in charge was very ethical and detailed in all financial matters with me. I was a non-Jewish contractor and never felt like that was an issue when dealing directly with the Rabbi. He allowed me quite a lot of large scale autonomy in decision making for things he knew I was capable of handling and only took charge in specific orders that required his expertise as a Rabbi to ensure that events and provisions were kosher if the items or events required very specific items. The community I worked with had many amazing activities and community members, and I was included always, even if not on the clock. Very welcoming.

Cons

The Rabbi's wife was highly involved in planning all events, however my duties to logistical implementation made some waves, as I was entrusted to ensure budget guidelines were on target, and she was a dreamer who had no financial competency. Occasionally there were rifts due to my needing to tell her "no" for budget or liability reasons. In other words, family business drama. Not insufferable drama, but still not best part of the gig. Some community members were more challenging to engage with, but generally felt that the Rabbi, his wife, and most community members had my back.
