Pros
The automotive teams (in the LA office) are incredible. The automotive roll-out programs are managed and executed by an incredibly skilled group of project directors and managers. I continue to learn a lot from my coworkers. Good work/life balance.
Cons
I work with the LA office, a satellite office that is separate from the company’s main office in Dayton, OH. The upper management in the Dayton office is not really involved in the LA office. I think that the company’s upper management has been trying to better this relationship, but there is still a lack of communication with those who aren’t in the main office. More importantly, the healthcare options are the worst I’ve ever had at a job. High deductible and high copay. If you have a partner or a parent with good coverage, expect to rely on theirs. Relying on ChangeUp’s coverage will put you out thousands of dollars out of pocket each time you try to see a doctor or schedule a standard procedure. Additionally, they made a big fuss of announcing a 401k plan earlier this year with matching. The way they played it up, I assumed it would be a good offer, but they only match 25% up to 6% of salary. The most common employer match offer in the US is 50% at up to 6%. Look, it’s certainly better than *no* employer match, but that doesn’t mean that it is a competitive or generous offering.
