Pros

-Opportunities for advancement. I've worked for the company for 6 years across 2 departments and have been promoted twice. -Excellent benefits package. Very low premiums. Multiple options for health insurance and many voluntary benefits. Huge amounts of leave. Built-in life insurance. State pension. -Work life balance is excellent. Most jobs in this company are 40 hours weekly. All holidays are paid time off. Roughly 15 days leave annually for new employees on top of paid holidays off. Sick time in a separate leave bank so sick time doesn't use annual leave. Non-essential staff are still paid during major weather events even when the business is closed. Essential staff get hazard pay (2.5 times pay) during major weather events if they are required to work.

Cons

-The place is so good to work that many people do not leave and continue working into retirement. Unfortunately the side effect is that this slows down promotions. -The competition to get a job here can be daunting. As the economy is improving, that competition is getting less. My best advice is to keep trying until you get in.

Pros

The benefits are the best thing about this company.

Cons

The pay leaves a lot to be desired and they are not open and recieptive to people who can think for themselves. Also the leaders preach on having an open door policy but that is far from what they practice. Being with the company for over 5 years I encountred constant manipulation and years of people looking down their nose at you until your expertise is need.
