Pros
The students are characterful and keep you on your toes
Cons
It is difficult to articulate just how unwelcoming the environment at this school can be. While it presents itself as inclusive, friendly, and open-minded, my experience within the science department suggested otherwise. The workplace culture felt toxic, with favoritism playing a significant role in professional interactions. I observed middle leaders engaging in unprofessional discussions about colleagues within their 'inner circles', which contributed to a negative atmosphere. In contrast, the students were outstanding—ironically, staff could learn a great deal from them about respect and how to treat each other. The two senior members of the science department have been in their roles for an extended period and view themselves as superior. However, due to their favourable standing with leadership, staff members seem reluctant to voice concerns. While I cannot speak in depth about other departments, I have heard similar feedback regarding the pastoral team.
