Pros

I’ve worked at a handful of places – from the very large corporation to the very small company. I have worked at Chief Architect now for a few years and when I compare it to these other companies, Chief Architect does many things that really are superior. For example, in a previous small company the owner, while providing an average compensation, did not have incentive profit sharing. Chief Architect’s profit sharing model is significant. It’s 401k is above the norm, and it has benefits comparable to others.

Cons

As a tech or a software company, Chief Architect produces home design software. And for me, what’s nice is the product changes people’s lives – those that want a first home or their ‘dream home’. Chief Architect helps to make that happen. The software is not for gaming or social apps. I like to work at a place that helps change lives and make a difference. Chief Architect is a small enough company that your opinion matters and you have a say in how the company or the product evolves – that’s definitely not the case in a large company like Microsoft (unless you’re a high-level exec) or a small company with a dominate owner/founder.

Pros

Great people work here. I enjoy my day with great coworkers even if my current task isn't something in interested in.

Cons

Normal small company issues. Hard to compete with the larger software giants.

Pros

- Great coworkers - Flexible hours - Beautiful location

Cons

- Unclear and inconsistently applied remote policy. Hybrid with one day a week remote, but some employees get to work almost entirely remote based on seniority and need, without a clear policy differentiating. - Limited holidays
