Pros
- Decent pay for childcare - Pretty facility - Got to have lunch with the kids - Rewarding career - I met really nice & hard-working teachers that I am now friends with - The children and parents were great. One of the many reasons I stayed with CLA for so long.
Cons
- Sell, sell, sell! They focus on quantity over quality. I was always told enrollment is the most important part. I've seen managers give not correct information on tours or I had a manager asked me "what is student ratio or what's your curriculum like?" Umm your a manager you should know these things. A lot of staff are under trained. - Management would put new-start in a room or transition a kid without telling a teacher. This leaves us unprepared and more stressed during the day. - No prep time ever - A lot of teachers and I were talked "down to" on the daily. I am college educated. Upper Management would come into a room complain about an issue then walk out and not help us fixed it. - When addressing issues to management if they are too busy it won't get resolved or ignored. It's a complete mess since there is no HR department - Need more management at the desk. A lot of the time we would call for an incident report but the manager could not leave the desk unintended. - Benefits are poor. Nobody can afford the health insurance plan "not a good plan" and they don't match 401K - I've gotten written up when a manager admitted they could of done a better job with the situation. The teachers are always the blame. - Management & Teacher turnover rate is the highest I've seen in a company. I had a new management staff member every couple months. A lot of the management did not even know my name. - Don't hire management within. I only seen them do it once but they pulled the manager back to teaching because we were low on teachers. In general they hire new managers that don't know what's going on. - I had children with behavioral issues (hitting, climbing, tantrums) and most the time management told me to just "deal with it" - Break room is a mess/ no supplies for curriculum we need
