Cons

1. Working here feels like being in prison. Even if you have to attend a meeting in another building within the office park, you need to request official leave and clock in because you are leaving the workplace. 2.The work culture is traditional and conservative in a very bad way. Seeing senior employees is like encountering nobility; you have to speak with utmost respect, but they treat you poorly. 3. You CANNOT learn any professional skills because the senior employees hoard their know-how and create barriers. But their knowledge is just a bunch of bulls**t once you figure it out. 4. The whole company values harmony above all other else, so you have to flatter and cater to others. If you got bullied in office, no one will help even HR don’t care. They will only ask you to endure everything. If you don't do so, you will be isolated and marginalized. 5. There is NO training for new employees; you have to figure everything out on your own. The senior employees only give the most sh*t*y tasks to newcomer. 6. There is NO such values of equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) inside this company. It is filled with bureaucracy and a stagnant, lazy mentality. There are other problems that I won't mention, but overall, it is THE WORST company culture in my career. It is only suitable for people who just want to be a slacker with a strong mindset who can stand corrupt environment. In that case, you can work here until retirement.

Pros

Solid Company Reputation: Chunghwa Telecom is a leader in the telecom industry in Taiwan and offers a stable work environment. Good Work-Life Balance: Management encourages employees to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Flexible hours and the option for remote work (depending on the department) are great perks. Opportunities for Learning and Growth: There are several training programs and opportunities for professional development. You can build a solid career if you take advantage of these resources. Supportive Team: The work culture is collaborative, and coworkers are generally friendly and willing to help each other out. There’s a strong sense of teamwork, especially in larger projects.

Cons

Slow Decision-Making Process: Being a large corporation, decision-making can be slow at times, especially when it comes to implementing new ideas or changes. Siloed Departments: Communication between different departments can be challenging, leading to occasional inefficiencies. Limited Innovation in Certain Areas: While Chunghwa is a major player in the industry, there is still some room for improvement in terms of adopting cutting-edge technologies or offering innovative solutions compared to some competitors.
