Pros

The people I work with are great. You get to meet many customers and that's what I enjoy most. I talk to people and have fun throughout the day. The pay is decent. I started at about 35k and my route was built up, through me and with the help of management, to around 50k. I don't see much room for growth though because my week is 40 hours and they won't let you go much over that. I like my service manager He understands issues and does his best to help. Great benefits. Can make your own hours.

Cons

It's hard work and certainly not for everyone. I change about 300-400 floor mats a week along with delivering towels, chemicals, paper products, and uniforms. The big shots are always trying to squeeze more and more out of the ssr. We handle all price increase negotiations (1 or more yearly), are required to get customers to sign a completely 1-sided 5 year service contract, do two 15 minute truck inspections daily, deal with and explain constant product shortages to customers, and put out lots of other fires. They are always on us about something (do this training, sell more catalog, sample this or that, get renewals, etc). All this on top of the exhausting work. Then after you work your tail off to get done, they often make you wait around to get checked in. There is a big disconnect between the people that actually do the work and the people that decide what those workers do.

Pros

The Commission is great. You can make good money in this place.

Cons

While the pay is good, the culture here is not. It is incredibly restrictive. It is very much a “Do what I want you to do, how I want you to do it, and when I want you to do it” management style. They constantly remind you of how much money you can make there which gets annoying after a while. The service team and the sales team are constantly at odds. Not just Cintas, but the industry in general is very sleazy, much like a car dealership. They screw over their smaller customers with enormous year over year price increases. I know a particular salesperson who is having a lot of success their who has no problem lying to his customers, and never answering their calls when the problems come. As long as he keeps the deals coming Cintas does not care. Corporate greed is on full display at Cintas. The Management Development program for college graduates seems like a great opportunity. If you are a young college graduate and you get the opportunity, I would recommend that.
