Pros
The base pay is pretty good, service management is very supportive, several health benefits to choose from, and routes are all four days. This company is tops in terms of uniform and facility service providers.
Cons
The three days off are great, but those four days on is work, shower, sleep if you're the kind of person that likes to sleep. Depending on the route you may have to work 12+ hours in a work day to maintain a great route in management's eyes. In addition to taking care of existing customers (that's 40 hours in itself), the SSR is expected to sell catalog products, fight for yearly price increases, get customers to maintain 60 month service agreements, actively look for viable leads for new business, keep lost replacement charges up, keep material costs down, etc. If the SSR isn't passionate about this line of work, it can wear said individual down very quickly. Any overtime is not time and a half, but half time. This may be just a flaw of the rental industry in general, but inconsistenties that occur in production can lead to many issues for the SSR. I'm just trying to tell it as I see it, and the grind wasn't worth it to me.
