Pros
The employees are great. Very friendly and really good at their jobs. Extremely committed, probably to a fault. Commute is great for those living in nearby suburbs. Pets are in the office often.
Cons
I have never been so stressed in my life. Constant micromanagement. Even after shifting the hierarchy, there are power struggles and the employees are suffering. Any time an employee tries to take initiative, they get their hand slapped for "stepping outside their bounds."
Communication is non-existent. Meetings about projects are held behind closed doors without the team members who actually have to do the work. No one is ever on the same page. Managers will let their team get halfway through a project (or further) and then change the direction completely. Then, when the project is over budget or late, it is somehow the team's fault.
Employees are badgered about their hours constantly and Lectures whenever there's a dip in revenue, yet the company will work for free, avoid sending well-deserved change orders, and price the work extremely below value. As a result, employees are underpaid and rarely receive raises.
Additionally, you are expected to work after hours every day unless you are given permission to leave on time, even if you work through lunch. They nickle and dime you for every hour, even though you're salaried.
