Pros

citiesRISE has been a meaningful place of growth for me, both professionally and personally. I have had close and consistent contact with the leadership team, who have been deeply invested in my development. Leadership is accessible, supportive, and open to learning alongside staff, which creates a strong culture of mentorship and trust. The organization values youth leadership and lived experience, and there is genuine space to contribute ideas, take ownership, and grow into responsibility. I have gained exposure to global partnerships, systems-level work, and cross-cultural collaboration that has significantly strengthened my skills and confidence. There is high level of flexibility and trust that creates space for learning, partnership and ownership of the work.

Cons

Because cR works across different time zones, collaboration often happens. This may require flexibility in timing which the organziation graciously offers and valuable exposure to global teamwork and support on scheduling.

Pros

The individuals whom the company attracts tend to be quite wonderful people and professionals. *Most leave quickly due to leadership and conditions however*. And there are strong NGOs that come and go through the companies revolving door of partners.

Cons

*Intentionally disorganized. Non-existent communication from the top "leadership". No transparency whatsoever *Chaotic working environment. High levels of stress and last-minuteness. Not necessary - simply appears to be the preferred culture. *Constant mission shift. Mission contorting. No clear vision or direction is established. Teams are asked to deliver on things that constantly shift. No communication from leadership on what or why things happen.
