Operating during COVID created unusual constraints for both employees and the company, and we did our best to balance safety, legal restrictions, and business needs. Travel decisions at that time were shaped by state and federal guidelines, which restricted air travel for individuals who had recently tested positive.
In this situation, we covered hotel accommodations so the employee could rest and recover without traveling while sick. Once they were feeling better, but still unable to fly due to regulations, driving was the only available option.
Since then, we’ve established clearer travel policies and field-support resources to avoid confusion in exceptional circumstances like this.
