Most RBTS are treated poorly - RBT/ABA Therapist Clarvida Employee Review

Pros

The pros- by far are the kids. The connection that you have with them is what will keep you there. You do also learn about behavior techniques.

Cons

The hours- families can (and do) cancel last minute and you aren't paid, so your paycheck largely depends on the whims of the families. It's by nature a really lonely and stressful job which can really weigh on your mental health. Most RBTs stay for less than a year. Families can also have insane expectations and a lack of understanding that therapy takes time. There are also huge issues of boundaries- a parent called me on a Sunday evening to vent about the BCBA for over an hour. There is also literally no possibility to receive a raise or bonus, even if you're working on your BCBA license.

Pros

Pros-very relaxed with things like work hours. Remote employees can have your kids home with you as long as you get your work done.

Cons

Unrealistic productivity expectations, too many leadership changes, too many team meetings that are a waste of time.
