Pros

You'll meet great people and eventually be laid off together!

Cons

I worked very hard for this company only for them to lay me off without reason or warning. They can, however, afford to buy other companies and host expensive conferences. Daily all-hands meetings which is just over the top. You will hear nothing but sunshine and rainbows from every department head, even days after major lay offs. Since this is Class it's fitting there is the "cool kids" group. AKA anyone who worked at Blackboard or is Blackboard adjacent. They know enough buzz words to attend meetings, give very opinionated monologues, and ultimate never contribute anything concrete. Be prepared to have zero support and work on a product that relies on tribal knowledge and the blood, sweat, and tears of people that have long since left for better conditions. The CTO writes an insane amount of horrendous code and has no leadership qualities. The engineering leadership will bicker and debate minute details while the CTO will churn out the worst implementation possible at the behest of the CEO. The positive reviews blow my mind. How can you possibly recommend a company that treats people so poorly? And consistently makes horrible business decisions?

Pros

Great founder, leadership team, peers. Mission-drive opportunity.

Cons

Competing priorities but I'm aware this applies to most startups.

Pros

Class is backed by prominent Zoom board members and investors, including current Zoom board member Santi Subotovsky, and education and technology leaders like SoftBank.

Cons

Anyone who has actually worked here will tell you that the C-Suite people are the worst. They make awful decisions and push their will on employees. They also hire people in bunches and then fire them for no reason. It was a terrible mess. They tried to hide their incompetence, but most of us could see through that easily. They even made fake promises of changing things moving forward, but that never happened. Most employees still live with the fear of layoffs there. These horrible people also set insane quotas and expected employees to meet those quotas by using any possible means. It was terribly stressful to try to meet the unrealistic goals. I walked away when I realized they wouldn't change or be reasonable.
