Pros

Was an incredible company to work for years ago. .... before the leadership change and the acquisition. Really good at appearing bigger and better than they actually are.

Cons

Large Layoffs happen about every 6 months. Rotating door for leadership. They treat HR directors like the flavor or the week. In fact, HR directors quit nearly every year because they can’t believe some of the things the “leadership” team asks them to do. This recent round of layoffs was“due to covid”, but the top 4 execs gave themselves heavy 20% bonuses retro-paid from January and have taken lengthy tropical vacations while the few employees that do remain were required to take 20% pay cuts. Introduced 401K after employees pleaded for it for nearly 10 years , then cancelled it 4 weeks after announcing it as a new benefit! The president likes to hire Orr Fellows and students fresh out of college specifically because they are “cheap”, only to lay them off in the middle of their internships and fellowships. This happened multiple times while I was employed there. They fired two employees while on unpaid maternity/paternity leave , an employee after having a stroke, and others for various medical needs. If you have any significant reason for taking more than a week off of work, be ready to get fired. The unlimited PTO only really applies towards the executive team and the product owner. Hanging onto their partnerships with IBM and Google Cloud by a thread. Once those snap, this company is done for. No proprietary tools or services. Could be crushed by a competitor with one strategic customer loss. Strategy for the company changes each week because they literally don’t know what to do to save the company. Current owners of the company (private equity from the east coast) even want out. They have sent multiple “residents” and “advisors” and they all subsequently leave after determining they can’t save/fix the mess that the president and his VPs have made. They even tried suing the company they purchased, hoping to recuperate some of the money they gave towards the purchase. ClearObject is the red headed step child of their venture portfolios.
