Pros

Socials, people and culture that they have created not the leadership.

Cons

One of the biggest challenges is the lack of consistency in the company’s long-term vision. The direction of the organization seems to shift frequently, almost every year, which creates uncertainty for employees and makes it difficult to align with long-term goals or build stability in career growth. Recently, there has been a very strong shift toward AI-focused initiatives, which, while relevant to the market, can sometimes feel overly narrow and may overshadow other valuable engineering practices and business priorities. Another challenge is the disconnect between leadership and employees, especially for teams based in India. Contributions, ideas, and suggestions from Indian employees do not always seem to receive the same level of attention or consideration as those from UK teams. This can be discouraging for employees who are actively trying to improve processes or introduce innovation. Additionally, the work culture within the India team can at times feel overly hierarchical or authoritarian, where decisions are mostly top-down and there is limited room for open discussion or challenging leadership perspectives. This can impact morale, collaboration, and the sense of ownership among employees.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're proud of the culture our people have built and we're committed to ensuring leadership earns the same respect. On strategic direction, we are at a genuine inflection point. Our move into AI is deliberate and we believe it's the right direction for our clients and our people. We hear the feedback that this needs to land more clearly, with room for broader engineering excellence alongside it. The experience described by our India team is the feedback we take most seriously. Geography should never determine how much your voice counts. We are actively working to change how ideas are surfaced and decisions are made across all our locations, ensuring contributions are evaluated on merit, hierarchies are flattened where they don't serve us, and every team feels equally empowered. We'd welcome the opportunity to hear more. If you're open to it, please reach out to us directly, we'd rather have that conversation than leave concerns unaddressed.

Pros

The company offers opportunities for growth in both technical and non-technical areas - this is challenging and sometimes uncomfortable, but if you want to improve, I think the company is great. The culture and people are also great! If you find a problem/process that you believe could be improved, there is nothing stopping you from making suggestions, raising concerns, and getting eyes on it. In the last year, there has been much more focus and effort on improving the culture and processes as the company grows. The company is hopping on the AI train (with mixed feelings among engineers). I think that people are working hard to make the company the best it can be, but it’s not to everyone's taste. In my experience, I think the company is doing a lot right and is keen to keep improving.

Cons

No company is perfect. There are growing pains as the company scales, and internal processes can always be improved. It's upsetting to see engineers giving the company 1-star reviews and venting instead of trying to be the change they want to see. I appreciate that some people feel unheard or undercompensated, but it hasn't been my experience at all. Many people (including management) make efforts to help as much as they can, and I truly believe they are doing the best they can.

Pros

ClearRoute exists because we believe platform engineering deserves to be done properly, not as an afterthought, but as the thing that lets great software get built and run well. That conviction runs through everything here. We're betting early and seriously on AI-native delivery, and the work people get to do on the back of that is genuinely ahead of the market. The calibre of the engineers is the thing I'm proudest of. People here care about the craft, push each other, and get real ownership of meaningful client problems rather than being a small cog in a big machine. If you want to be close to the impact of your work and have a hand in shaping where a company goes, this is a rare place to do it. We also take the partnership and the technology direction seriously, which means the problems you work on tend to be the interesting ones, the ones that are still being figured out.

Cons

We're scaling fast, and that brings the trade-offs you'd expect: priorities can shift, and some of the process and structure is still being built as we grow. That suits people who like ambiguity and want to help shape how things work, it's less comfortable if you prefer everything settled and defined on day one. We're conscious of it and actively investing in getting the foundations right.
