Pros
You can get 6 hour shifts for some stores.
Flexible work
The work is easy once you memorize the menu
The duties are pretty much easy
Get a discount on food
Technology makes your job easier
Cons
You stand up your entire shift.
The owner is cheap and may try to get you to work for free as long as possible. As soon as you challenge it, he'll give in.
Cashiers are held responsible for losses
There isn't advancement opportunities
If you have an owner that doesn't want to give you a lunch break, you should try to find another job
The store I worked for kept help wanted signs outside because employees left so quickly/often.
The owner I worked for would rather throw away leftover food then give it to employees
Things get crazy when there's a lot of customers sometimes, it's manageable, but again cashiers were held responsible for ANY money problems where I worked, so watch the counterfeit bills.
Don't expect any type of love when you quit, even if you do so responsibly.
