Pros
Staff discount and double discount on pay day weekend, quality food. Pay isn't bad for the job itself. Some decent managers but very few.
Cons
The company, customers, colleagues. Might as well re brand as tesco as thats where majority of new staff come from. They really do not care about staff unless you are a manager and when you have a problem they don't want to know about it. They promise you progression which never happens and always come up with some excuse as to why. They make you work back to back (i.e finish at 10pm back in at 5am) which is illegal and promise to make sure it will never happen again but it always does. All in all they're just money greedy bullies who can never be satisfied with the amount of money a store takes. Whatever you do is wrong, always wrong (unless you have come over from tesco). You could hit targets every week and the store could be performing brilliant but it still isn't good enough. Just remember the manager is always right and you will always be wrong. Done a 16 hour shift but that still isn't good enough. Everything the co op stands for is trash and you soon learn that their only interests in how much money they can make and how many hours can they make you work for as little pay as possible. Bunch of bullies would never go back.
