Pros

The Diversity and Inclusion lead has been doing an amazing job. Not because she is ultra experienced, it's simply because she cares SO SO much. And as a member of the LGBTQ community, that caring and devotion means everything to me. No.. not everything is perfect, and we have so much room for improvement... but it's the journey that's important and the people you are with. I'd rather blaze a trail and make mistakes with amazing people at my back than walk someone else's path. And the people currently running D and I... are amazing people.

Cons

We have a long way to go, and I could say everything that is wrong, and all of the dumb things people have said and done but honestly, at the end of the day the CEO cares, he has shown that he cares and is doing his best to empower us to make that path and fashion things in the fashion we want them in. And even though that might be messy, and it currently is, WE have a chance to do it our way... no taking orders, no rules to follow on how we make this up... it is all a glorious mess of chaos and caring. But if you speak up and speak out, leadership is at least willing to allow you to make your own way and give you as much or little guidance as you want. Personally.. I'm really looking forward to Blazing our own trail!

Pros

- Real client-facing technical work in regulated/FedRAMP environments; good exposure if compliance-heavy cloud is your lane. - Internal mobility exists on paper; managers may encourage internal candidates for promotions. - New management clearly understands their assignment and is saying the right things and taking initial steps that appear to be moving us towards a strong path forward.

Cons

- Promotion paths can be unstable; roles may get restructured mid-process, which makes career planning hard. - Management quality is uneven; promotion into management isn't always tied to demonstrated leadership, technical capability, or appropriate vision. - Limited structured professional development. - Compensation progression can be a friction point, including for internal moves. - Bonus payouts have come in far below target even for top performers, which has been rough.
