Pros
Management mostly leaves you alone. Sometimes you work at a resort or somewhere nice. Could be a good job for young people with no social life. Decent PTO accumulation.
Cons
Project managers will send you out with virtually no information about the project. Rushed to deploy to job sites before the details are finalized. SOW will often change in the middle of the project. Per diem is very low. No cost of living raises since pre-covid. Management will send one person to do what used to be a two-man job, because they don’t care if you have to stay on-site an extra week or work 12 hour days with no breaks to finish. During slow periods, you will be left without work for sometimes weeks at a time. Travel will book you the worst hotel or flight to save $10. Management does little to address issues beyond passing the blame around.
