      Pros

      CIF was a fantastic jumping point into civic tech, one of very few accessible to college students. They had super helpful resources including mentorship and career prep workshops.

      Cons

      The application cycle goes pretty late, so it's a risk to postpone any other offers you have.

      One of the few transparent ways to explore civic tech. Depending on who you’re matched with, project can be high impact and interesting.

      Cons

      Some others in the cohort had worse experiences from being matched with a slower moving department or department that had misaligned expectations.
