Pros
They do have lovely people working for them. Some very knowledgeable professionals work for Cognite, and just overall cool people to be around. Also, the products have a great deal of potential, particularly in the AI space.
Cons
I've never seen a group of executives making such unnecessary mistakes and being so dishonest with their people. Employees in the Austin office were told they could keep their jobs and work remotely after that office was shut down, and of course, it wasn't true. Granted, many of us thought it wasn't true, but the amount of effort that went into trying to convince them their jobs were safe when they weren't... just felt slimy. I've also not encountered a company that is so desperate to be known as "AI native". There were leaders bringing AI agents into meetings with customers and trying to code up software on the spot. There was no consideration to data privacy, no intelligence scoping, no proper procedure, just a couple of execs feeding their customers' data into a third-party chat app and hoping it would spit out a solution. Yikes.
