Pros

During my time with the company the culture was great. The work environment was also very laidback yet strictly business. The upper level staff was very supportive and helpful. Overall a good company to start my career.

Cons

Some of the downsides of working at CED was that it might be a little difficult to climb the corporate ladder depending on your department.

Thank you for sharing your experience! We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the culture, work environment, and support from upper-level staff during your time at Colliers Engineering & Design. We appreciate your feedback about career growth and will certainly take it into consideration as we continue to develop opportunities for professional advancement across departments. We appreciate your suggestion about involving lower-level engineers in client interactions and field surveys and will consider ways to integrate this more into the early stages of career development. Thank you for your hard work during your time with us!

Pros

Flexible schedule & ability to work remote or hybrid

Cons

The company does not communicate effectively among all staff. Upper management treats as-needed staff like they are trash and they don't take time to understand the discipline that they are in charge of. When the department is understaffed, the employees are told to just "work harder" instead of hiring more people. They interview people, make them believe they have a shot, then the managers ghosts them. Even though they label themselves as having "competitive" salaries, they pay less than some smaller companies. Large bonuses only go to managers after their staff does all the hard work. Regular staff gets small bonuses and baby raises each year. A lot of people resign after they refuse to do bigger raises because they can get hired for a lot more at other companies. Upper management also ignores all communication from regular staff. There are no repercussions to Upper management when there are HR complaints about them. Advancement in the company is super slow.
