Pros
This is a great place for anyone who wants a start in tech!
From the first day, I felt like I was contributing, which is usually a rarity for an internship. Also, I got the opportunity to work on a lot of really cool projects and initiatives. It feels like there's always something exciting or new going on, so I rarely find myself bored or without work (another rarity for an internship). There is a lot of work to do, but I enjoy working with my team and the relaxed environment.
I think the work environment is a good mix between stereotypical start-up and a more developed company. There's structure, but everything still feels fresh.
I think the biggest pro is that, as an intern, I was allowed to experiment, try new things and work with a lot of autonomy. I gained a lot of skills here and a really good idea of what working in tech is like. If I had an idea for a project or something we could do, I was able to follow through with it.
Cons
- It's tough work because it's a new product within a competitive market, but that's part of the challenge.
- The location is great for the most part, but I wish it was a tiny bit closer to the heart of downtown. However, the building is literally 20 steps away from the Expo Line so I can't really complain too much about location.
- I really enjoy working in the relaxed office, but it's usually a bit too quiet.
-Things change and move really fast, so sometimes it's hard to keep up.
