Pros
While working at CSP I got a wide range of experiences including, customer service, sales and revenue collection, maintenance, law enforcement, patrolling the park by patrol car, foot and bicycle as well as filling in for the boat patrol when they where not on duty. It was also a great way to use my EMT skills and you can start a retirement plan within the PERA system. While I worked with CSP the permanent staff members were very friendly and helpful to the seasonal rangers (Although most of them have now been promoted to higher positions in different parks).
Cons
The pay is low and without a P.O.S.T. certification you will only have the authority to enforce park and wildlife regulations. This is very much a chain of command position and taking problems to the higher ups in the park is not approved of.
