Pros
Very stable place to work since the University isnt going anywhere. Low risk of lay offs. Can have a lot of opportunities for growth if you have a goof manager or are willing to move departments. Salaries are fairly competitive for the industry.
Cons
Very siloed workplace. Your department makes all the difference on your work experience, The higher ups (dean suites, central university, etc.) do not care about the support staff.
