Pros

Great opportunity to work with students who are eager to learn. Chance to have big impact on people's lives and well-being. Teaching faculty are dedicated and hard-working.

Cons

Pay is mediocre, raises are non-existent. 10 vacation days annually, no summer break, winter break, or spring break. Teachers are on the clock, must badge in/out and be on the school premises a minimum 40 hours per week. Upper management constantly makes spur-of-the-moment changes to schedules, curriculum, etc. with minimal input from teachers, then has to backtrack when the changes don't work out as planned. Management appears to have little interest in students' needs or interests, student needs are never discussed in any faculty meetings, only numbers and budget.

Pros

The community health workers and people working on the frontline are some of the sweetest and most hard-working people I've ever met

Cons

-oversight on management for hiring a development team that doesn't even speak Spanish. During my interview, the HR lady wanted to make sure that I spoke Spanish and went as far as asking personal questions to gauge my level of Spanish, but somehow the other two women in charge of me spoke ZERO Spanish. -lack of transparency during onboarding that this was a salary position and thus was not eligible for overtime -Terrible work/life balance, by my 2nd week there they wanted me to work weekends and do "work lunches" instead of taking my own breaks -crappy and half-assed answers to proposals/grants that show lack of consideration and cultural knowledge for departments -ultra micromanagement-the last person in the position stayed in the same office with me and was planning to stay for over a month, something I was not told
