Made a mistake, gave it seven months to ensure, just in case, then moved on. - Senior Consultant Companjon Employee Review

Pros

1. Flexible working - You are required to be in the office for only 4 days a month. 2. HR, especially Ciaran, who assisted me during my offboarding process.

Cons

1. In hindsight, my primary regret in my career journey lies in accepting the offer from this company and dedicating seven months of my time to them. Despite foregoing offers from reputable MNCs to join a startup, the experience has been far from satisfactory. 2. Despite initial assurances that I would report to the CTO, upon joining, I found myself under the supervision of a business analyst with significantly less experience and expertise. Addressing this issue only seemed to exacerbate tensions, as my concerns were perceived as threats, and there was evident personal insecurity on their part. 3. The seven months spent here were characterized by extensive hours, often exceeding 12-14 hours a day, including weekends, attempting to resolve production issues stemming from the inadequacies in design and development by these inexperienced analysts. 4. Additionally, encountering a techops person who struggled with fundamental IT concepts was emblematic of the challenges faced, further draining energy that could have been allocated more effectively. 5. This company doesn't quite align with the typical insurtech model; it seems to lean more towards a body shop approach.

Pros

Smart, inclusive colleagues from diverse backgrounds who worked hard and had fun, even in a pressurised and toxic environment. Some of the executive team were incredible mentors and coaches, too. I really appreciated all of them, they kept me going near the end.

Cons

The company was a vanity project for the CEO who had no experience in tech or start-ups. You were only as good as the work you had done that day and mistakes threatened his ego. If you left the business and had won an award, your photo was removed from the wall.
