Pros
Decent benefits, some teams are easy to work with, work from home.
Cons
Tech companies must invest and retain people to succeed. This company has cut itself off at the knees by “riffing” departments of their legacy knowledgeable staff and piling the work onto overly burdened teammates or abandoning their workloads all together so failures occur. No ownership of work is a big problem. Employees are burned out and have no work life balance. There is no reimbursement for personal development, learning conferences or CPEs so the workforce becomes stale and not motivated to learn new and creative ways to make the company products better. There is a culture of “no bonuses”, no performance pay, and there are no market alignments. Management who have been with the company a long time often make less than new employees. Company cut’s employees to pay twice as much for temps/contractors. No room for growth. The outlook for the company is poor because they won’t modernize their business, systems, processes and development designs. The more they cut budgets the more the revenue drops. Why can’t leadership see this as a trend?
