Rude managers, put unfair pressure on staff - Care Assistant Connected Health Employee Review

Pros

Other care workers, clients are great to work with

Cons

So badly organised and the pressure falls on to the staff who are out on ground and already doing a difficult job. Carers are constantly pressured into picking up extra calls and shifts. Office staff can be very rude and abrasive. No support given to carers. Management use the excuse of being short staffed and say it is just part of the job but other companies can manage these problems without treating their staff badly. They take on too many clients out of greed and staff have too many calls to make, which means they can’t do their job in caring, professional way.

Pros

- The main staff on ground who aid the service users are generally nice and helpful. - Most service users are very enjoyable to help and speak with.

Cons

- The management is extraordinarily terrible at managing anything. There is absolutely no communication between management and on ground staff. Our demands go through one ear and right out the other, so nothing ever improves. In fact, I’d say it gets worse. - No mileage pay given equals us having to fork out extra money just to try to continue working for this company. - Instead of trying to make the runs easier, management decides the best course of action is to change the runs by their standards and never ever ask the on ground staff what they think. Then ultimately, it leads to both the staff and the service users unhappy. - Ridiculous work loads and times, constantly getting new clients in but hardly any new staff in. Most staff don’t get a break after working 8-10 hours, sometimes even more.
